The DJI O4 ground station integrates a 12-antenna omnidirectional array and high-efficiency RF components, supporting intelligent switching of multiple frequency bands such as sub2G [1] . A new gateway mode [2] is added , which can directly connect to DJI FlightHub 2 [3] , greatly expanding the deployment radius; there is also a relay mode [4] to cover areas without network coverage. Maintenance-free and intelligent low-power design [5] , supporting all-weather unattended operation.
Powerful hardware, robust image transmission
High-performance radio frequency components
The O4 ground station features high-power RF components, effectively enhancing signal penetration and coverage, and improving communication performance in complex, obstructed environments such as dense buildings. Its high signal-to-noise ratio design improves communication link sensitivity, enabling precise extraction of effective signals from complex electromagnetic environments.
Omnidirectional high-gain antenna
Employing a 12-antenna horizontally and vertically polarized array arranged both internally and externally, it provides omnidirectional high-gain signal coverage. Regardless of the UAV's location on the ground station, the antenna system can continuously and stably capture signals, providing a coherent communication link over a wide airspace.
Multi-band intelligent switching [1]
The DJI O4 ground station supports automatic switching between multiple frequency bands, including sub2G, 2.4 GHz, 5.2 GHz, and 5.8 GHz [1] , and can intelligently avoid interference. Despite the congested radio spectrum in the city, the video transmission is always clear and smooth. When used with the Matrice 400, the maximum transmission distance is 40 kilometers [6] .
Five-star nineteen-frequency positioning
With a built-in high-gain RTK positioning module, it can receive satellite data from nineteen frequencies across five major global satellite systems. Even in semi-obstructed areas such as gaps between urban buildings or dense forests, it can actively capture available satellite signals, continuously providing drones with centimeter-level high-precision positioning data to ensure operational quality and flight safety.

Network access, cloud interconnection
By enabling gateway mode [2] , the O4 ground station can be directly connected to DJI FlightHub 2 [3] via Ethernet or DJI Enhanced Image Transmission Module [7] to achieve low latency and high bandwidth drone image transmission. This mode breaks through the original DJI Dock 3 deployment distance limit, and the coverage radius of a single station can reach 30 kilometers [8] .
Signal Map [5] , Precise Deployment
After the flight mission is completed, DJI FlightHub 2 can generate a signal map based on the flight data [5] to intuitively display the weak signal coverage area within the operation range, so as to accurately deploy ground stations, strengthen communication links, and improve flight safety.
Virtual cockpit [5] , free control
In gateway mode, the pilot can remotely take over the drone through the DJI FlightHub 2 virtual cockpit [5] and control the flight within the signal coverage area of the ground station, without being restricted by the preset route, and flexibly respond to the needs of multiple missions.

Erected at high points, overcoming obstacles
The O4 ground station inherits the functions of the fixed deployment version of the D-RTK 3 relay station. In areas without network such as valleys or in urban areas with severe signal obstruction, simply switch the O4 ground station to relay mode [4] and set it up at a high place to extend the transmission distance of UAV images.
Multiple devices rotate [9] for efficient operation
DJI Docks or remote controllers within signal range [9] can remotely scan and access [10] O4 ground stations, easily enabling the rotation of multiple ground devices. A single ground station can serve different UAVs at different times, greatly improving device utilization.
Long-term operation and intelligent energy saving
High environmental adaptability
It has an IP67 protection rating [11] , which effectively prevents rain and dust from entering. The O4 ground station can still operate stably in environments ranging from -40°C to 55°C [12] , covering most climate conditions and meeting the needs of long-term unattended outdoor operations.
Lightning protection design
The self-developed lightning protection components combined with the grounding design meet the Category C protection level of EN/IEC 61643-21. Even when deploying O4 ground stations at high outdoor locations such as mountains and iron towers, the risk of lightning damage can be effectively reduced [13] .
Maintenance-free design
Employing a fanless passive cooling design and supporting a self-recovery mechanism, it can automatically resume operation in the event of a power outage or software malfunction, eliminating the need for manual intervention at remote sites to restart or repair the device. This hardware-software integrated maintenance-free design significantly reduces troubleshooting frequency and operational costs.
Intelligent low power consumption [5]
In gateway mode, the O4 ground station supports intelligent low-power management. When no drones are connected, the device automatically goes into sleep mode and only requires 7 watts to be ready to go [14] . In environments without mains power, it can be connected to DJI Power solar power solutions or other photovoltaic power systems [15] to ensure long-term stable operation of the device in remote areas such as mountainous regions.
